Desire and repulsion are two feelings that come from the same kind of energy, and function with the same stimuli. They blend into one another until they provoke a fascination for things we find disturbing, fantasies that we refuse to admit: secret thoughts. However, the true perversity lies in our ability to publicly condemn: to deny this primitive attraction, so that we may appear socially acceptable to those whom we love and respect.
