Invisible Images
acrylic on canvas 40 x 40 cm, Jyväskylä 2004

The study of imagery through visual experimentation is a cultural entity. The observer is important, who they are and how they see, but also how one has learned to see. Images themselves carry diverse meanings. They can be simultaneously index, symbol and icon.
Images do not simply reflect an object, but instead, the image’s visual representation stimulates an observation and many other subconscious senses on somatic levels.
I personally see a reflection of society; consumers using a clandestine code. And I feel sick.
